Every Thursday morning at 9 AM all members of the Apple Country Woodcrafters are invited to join in a session for wood carvers. Most of what is done is hand carving, but there is also occasional buzzing of power carving tools and a bit of wood burning. We have bird carvers, chip carvers, bust carvers, caricature carvers, fish carvers, spoon carvers and carvers of just about anything.
Most of our members are self-taught, and this, of course, includes learning from each other. There are all levels of skill and experience represented in our group, but we are always looking for beginners. To that end, we remind the entire club membership—and people outside the club—to stop by, watch us, sit in and see if you like what we’re doing. Intermittently, we have courses for beginners, and in the past we have had outside teachers come in to run classes.
